Sambalpur: Oil Scam in District Police Department, Petrol tank was sacrificed!

Sambalpur: Less than 3 months ago, there was a news about the lakhs of rupees oil corruption going on in the Sambalpur district police department. After this incident, the district police department suspended three constables in charge of oil tokens and informed the media that the investigation is starting. The police petrol tank got caught up in the oil scandal. The Police officers corrupt 27 lakhs worth of oil during the election period and also ate the money earned from this tank. Finally, when the tank was submerged in debt of lakh of rupees of oil, they did not even dare to open it.

According to a reliable source District Police Department is planning to close the oil tank completely since April. The most important thing is that despite the fact that 3 months have passed since this incident came to light, the district police department could not complete the investigation.

This police petrol pump attached to the reserve police has been managed by the district police since time immemorial. 8 home guards and a senior officer have also been employed for management. This pump is used not only by the police department but also by common people. But after the corruption came to light during the last election, the tank was closed. On the other hand, to reduce the debt burden on the tank, there has been information about the transfer of money from different funds from the district police.

During the last panchayat election, about a hundred vehicles were used by the district police department. In which 25 are private buses and 15 are reserve police vehicle. Due to lack of advance money to buy oil, oil could not be brought to this tank, so tanks, buses and LMVs (light motor vehicles) were used. 50 domestic LM (Bolero class) vehicle were also used. The private vehicles were provided to the Sambalpur Police through the Regional Transport Office. However, after the election, the expenses related to the oil billing of the said vehicles went to the State Police Headquarters and the State Election Commission where billing was found to be significantly higher than normal. About 30 lakh rupees were billed for oil. During the investigation, 30 to 40 liters of oil was smuggled in one lane. Most importantly, after the suspension, the staff in charge of the tokens openly replied that they had been instructed to manipulate the tokens to cover the expenses of the big officers. But no attention was paid to it.
