Jamankira: On behalf of Jamankira Forest Department a wild boar hunter has been arrested and a native gun, a severed head, legs etc. have been seized from him. The Forest Department staff received the news of wild boar being hunted at Ushakothi Protected Forest Camp No. 11 under Badarama Wildlife Sanctuary of Sambalpur District. On the basis of information, the house of Dharmendra Patta of Garhpati village was raided and the severed head, 4 legs, one tail, 17 shishas made with native gun, 25 grams of gun powder, 2 axes were seized. Accused Dharmendra was arrested and charged in Kuchinda SDJM court after filing a criminal case under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. As the bail of the accused was denied in the court, he has been sent to jail. Led by Senior Range Officer Subas Chandra Naik, Forester Ranjan Jeet, Nunvet Beat Forest Guard A. KKB Patel and Amblang Bit Forest Guard Kshirodini Rana were involved in the major raid.
