Sambalpur: OPD plastic surgery to be opened in Vimsar
Burla: The success of Burla Vimsar, which is said to be the heart of West Odisha healthcare, is on the rise. Due to Instructions of the state government, a plastic surgery OPD will be launched soon under the supervision of Vimsar Director Prof Lalit Meher to provide free healthcare to the poor. The selection process has also been completed. Mahesh Mandal, an assistant professor at Cuttack SCB, will soon join Burla Vimsar as the new plastic surgeon. He plans to serve patients two days a week. For this, a plastic surgery OPD will be performed in a room near the MRI room, Professor Meher informed.
In western Odisha, where almost no private nursing home has plastic surgeons, poor patients are forced to travel to Cuttack, Bhubaneswar. The free service will be available in Burla Vimsar, especially in 10 districts of western Odisha, as well as in neighboring Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. Recently, Vimsar authorities announced the appointment of ten new doctors due to the shortage of doctors in various departments of Burla Hospital. Of these, three assistant professors have been recruited in three departments. They were Dr. Rajesh Meher, in the Department of Neurology, Dr. Biswajit Mohapatra Department of Urology. and Dr. Mahesh Mandal of the Department of Plastic Surgery. The director informed that the selection process for doctors has also started for other departments.
