Sambalpur: Order to stop begging at Samleshwari temple
Sambalpur: The government has taken up various welfare schemes for disabled, senior citizens, third gender, beggars with the help of SSEPD department. Beggar Home (ଭିକ୍ଷୁକ ଗୃହ) is also functioning. Despite this, the presence of beggars at the door of Maa Samleswari’s temple is sad.
Currently development and beautification of temple area is going on under Samlei Yojana. A special part of the Samlei Yojana is to free the temple premises from beggars. Therefore, Sambalpur District Collector Ananya Das has ordered to immediately stop begging in the premises of Mother’s temple. She has drawn the attention of the District Security Officer and the Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation Prosecutor and requested them to take strict action to stop begging in the temple premises of Mother Samleshwari, according to the District Information and Public Relations Department.
