Sambalpur: Patient’s relative are reluctant to take a sample test in Vimsar
Burla: The Regional Examination Center (RDC) has a blood test for patients coming to Vimsar. Even if patients come to the blood test center in the morning without eating or drinking, there is no record of it opening before 9am. As a result, many patients are forced to move to private practice centers. At 8 a.m., long lines of patients lengthen the regional examination center. There are no special counters for men, women, senior citizens, or critically ill patients. Samples of 400 to 500 outpatients are being tested daily. In addition, blood samples from 500/400 patients admitted to the hospital are tested. All types of blood and feces are being tested here.
However, there are frequent allegations that the test center does not have the required number of technicians, nurses and doctors. There are currently only four technicians in the 35-seat RDC. About 20,000 blood samples are tested here every day. On the other hand, blood samples were collected by a single technician. The long line extends to the gates of the Regional Testing Center. There is no drinking water or fan system to protect against heat. Only there were sightings of security guards wandering around. Asked by Vimsar Superintendent Dr Lalmohan Nayak about this, he said the process of hiring an additional 30 labor technicians is underway. Certificate verification is now underway. They will be hired soon after this work is completed. As a result, patients no longer have to stand in long lines, ”he said.
