Sambalpur: Permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur will be Completed by March
Sambalpur: The permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur will be fully operational by March. The new campus has reached its final stage at a cost of Rs 4101 crore in 2000 acres of land in Basantpur, a suburb of Sambalpur.
Director of IIM Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal informed that 90 percent of the work of the new campus has been completed. Only electrification work, furniture and various equipment construction works are left. The new campus will have hostel facilities for 500 students along with gymnasium and auditorium, classrooms, executive management center, incubation center, administrative building, residential housing for working faculty and staff, library and other related facilities to make this new campus attractive and memorable and carrying the flavor of the culture, Konark Chakra and Sambalpuri fabric designs will be featured.
The permanent campus will be completely eco-friendly. Therefore, departmental sources said that only battery-operated vehicles will run in the campus. In 2015, IIM opened in the Silicon Institute of Technology campus under the Rengali Block in Sambalpur was implemented on May 9. In 2018, IIM was shifted to Sambalpur University campus. Now it will be implemented in his own permanent campus from next March.
