Sambalpur: Plaster of Paris Ganesh Idol at Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Ganesh Puja is coming. Plaster of Paris Ganesha idols are now being sold on the roadsides of Sambalpur as it celebrates on the 31st Aug. In front of the town police station, traders were seen selling the idol in a long queue. As this Plaster of Paris statue is being sold for the first time in Sambalpur, traders are hoping for good business as there is Ganesh Puja ahead. People thronged to see the sculptures as they were very beautiful to look at. Traders are selling these idols from 100 to 3500 rupees. Traders from Rajasthan bought the statue from Kolkata and sold it all over western Odisha. The sale of the statue has started in Sambalpur from Friday. The sculptures are made of plaster of paris and the color will last for about 2 years, traders said.
