After learning about the incident, the head of the department, Professor Dr. Mamata Soren went to the department and reprimanded the staff who are on duty from nursing officer to the attendant and wrote a letter to the medical superintendent to take action against those who were on duty at that time.
According to information, a ward of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has been opened on the top floor of the new medical building. On the 9th, a woman was shifted to that ward and had a surgery. The doctor had already given time to perform this complicated surgery of the woman yesterday. For five days the woman was admitted to the Ward and given all the necessary primary treatment. However, at the scheduled time yesterday, the family took the woman to the O.T room. The staff had lost the bedside ticket, which contained all the details of the treatment the woman had received over the past five days. This ticket remains in the hands of the nursing staff on duty after the patient is admitted.
The woman’s treatment was cancelled due to non-availability of this ticket. The woman’s family informed the departmental doctor and the head of the department about the incident. Then the head of department Dr. Soren reached the said ward and asked the attendants starting from the nursing officer on duty at that time. However, no one have the ticket.
Da. Soren informed the Medical Superintendent in writing about the incident. However, it has been demanded to investigate who played such a game with the patient’s life and take action against him. After asking Dr. Lalmohan Naik, Medical Superintendent of Vimsar, he admitted that such an incident had taken place.
