Sambalpur: Police have achieved great success in arresting Vehicle Theft Gang and seized 4 vehicle
Dhama: Subash Pandey’s pick-up vehicle (OD15C 5795) was stolen on the late night of February 19th from Sahaspur under Dhama police station of Sambalpur district. Some miscreants stole the car from the front of his house. The police have achieved great success in this case. Within days of Subash’ pickup being stolen, another pickup was stolen from Jamankira. The police formed a special team and investigated the incident seriously. With the help of CCTV footage and technical team, Dhama police managed to caught the car theft gang.
After receiving information from a reliable source, the police team checked the vehicle near Gunderpur. The police arrested 2 members of the gang there and seized a scorpio. After questioning them, a special team of the police raided various places in Sundergarh. 2 stolen pick-up vehicles were seized from there and the accused arrested.
The police team has arrested six people from this gang, including a minor. The 5 accused who were arrested are SK Nawab (26), SK Saheb (22), Gulfam Ali aka Gulab (20), Madhav Tajna aka Pintu (28) of Sundargarh Mohanty Pada Regent Market and Uddhav Badhei (38) of Sundargarh Bandhapali. Police seized 4 vehicles and 5 mobile phones from them.

While SK Saheb’s home was in Sundargarh, he lived in his mother-in-law’s house in Dhanupali Thana Motijharan. He used to go to village and buy scrap metal. But that was not his main business. While he was going to village to collect iron, he kept an eye on vehicles and what was going on and informed his brother SK Nawab in the gang. On getting information from him, they came in the middle of the night and stole the vehicle.
