Sambalpur: Police have seized 4 hand grenades along with 1 quintal of marijauna from a marijauna – laden vehicle
Sambalpur / Rengali: The police have seized a bag of marijuana and hand grenades from the marijuana-laden vehicle near Thelkoloi police station in Khinda, Sambalpur district. On Monday morning at 3 am, the police seized this vehicle (OR 02 BR 7070) while patrolling. As the wheel of the vehicle was leaking, the police team arrived while they trying to install a new tire. A jack was also attached to the vehicle and when the driver saw the police he fled away from the scene towards Khinda Jungle.
After checking the vehicle, 109 kg 480 grams (22 packets) of marijauna and 4 hand grenades were found in it. After reaching the bomb defusing squad, the bombs were defused in the presence of Rengali Tahsildar Berisus Dungdung, Thelkoloi police officer Bibhutibhushan Dalei.
Police found BJP flag with UP MLA pass from the vehicle
In the vehicle where Marijauna was smuggling, there was a flag of BJP along with the MLA pass of Uttar Pradesh Assembly. MLA is written in the said pass which was seized by the police and the serial number of the pass – 2760 is mentioned. It is written that it was issued for the year 2023, so it is a genuine pass or not, now the police are investigating it.
Along with this there were 2 number plates in the vehicle. However, the police clarified that the Odisha number plate attached is fake, while the Uttar Pradesh number plate (UP 32 EL1892) inside is correct.
Along with this, an Aadhaar card belonging to Sunil kumar, Bargarh Berhagoda Tollgate Pass, Madhya Pradesh Joginihar Toll Plaza Gate Pass and many pass etc have been seized by the police.
