Sambalpur: Police on High Alert for Elections; Inspections in All Hotels
Sambalpur: Known for having the highest temperatures in the state, Sambalpur is currently witnessing intense political heat that surpasses even the weather. The Lok Sabha elections have turned Sambalpur into a high-voltage battleground. While the Chief Minister campaigns for BJD, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting the city to support the BJP, intensifying the electoral fervor. Amidst this, the Sambalpur police have ramped up security and started conducting raids in various locations.
On Friday night, special teams from Sambalpur police conducted raids and inspections at all the hotels in the city. Political campaigns by all parties are in full swing as leaders strive to make their presence felt before the fate is sealed in the EVMs on the 25th. Many people from outside the state have also flocked to Sambalpur, prompting the police to carry out thorough checks at all hotels. The police have heightened their vigilance on criminal activities and money transactions. Special teams comprising officers from multiple police stations have been formed to visit hotels and verify the identities and purposes of those staying there. They are also inspecting the rooms.
In addition to this, strict checks are being conducted at all checkpoints in Sambalpur city. The police are maintaining a close watch on all CCTV footage from the central control room at the SP’s office, ensuring round-the-clock surveillance.
