Sambalpur: Police Protection? Questions Arise as Accused Driver Escapes After Lawyer Suraj Biswal’s Tragic Death
Sambalpur: Suraj Biswal, a lawyer, died in a terrible crash on the New Flyover 10 days ago. Suraj was riding his bike on Kacheri Street when a fast car (OD 31D 4336) hit him head-on. Despite the police arriving promptly, the driver of the car managed to escape, seriously injuring Suraj. He was taken to Sambalpur District Head Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police immediately launched an investigation into the incident and seized both vehicles involved. However, despite their efforts, the driver of the car managed to escape, leaving many unanswered questions. It has now been 10 days since the accident, and the driver remains at large.
Concerns have been raised regarding the police’s handling of the situation, with some questioning whether the driver is receiving undue protection. Praveen Singhdeo, former editor of the District Attorney’s Association, has requested that the driver be arrested as soon as possible in order to guarantee Suraj Biswal receives justice. The community mourns the loss of a proficient young lawyer and wants authorities to act decisively in this case.
