Sambalpur police will adopt the principle of ‘No tolerance’ for criminals from New Year
Sambalpur: From New Year, Sambalpur police will adopt the principle of zero tolerance (no tolerance) on criminals. The guidelines of the Supreme Court will be strictly enforced and strict action will be taken against the use of loudspeakers.
A mobile number 8018 250001 has been issued for crime control. This number will be in the police control room under SP. It also has a WhatsApp facility available. Citizens can give information about any incident or crime by contacting or texting this number. It is said that immediate action will be taken after the complaint. Strict enforcement of traffic rules in Sambalpur city will have zero tolerance for violation of traffic rules from Nelson Mandela Street to Adarsh Marg.
All business associations are requested not to display their materials, hoardings, or any kind of advertising signboards on the road. The city has been asked to select and identify parking spaces. Parents are requested to ensure that minors and school children do not ride motorcycles in the town. It has been decided to take strict action against violations, use of mobile phones while driving, triple riding, and drunken driving, except medicine, railways, cinema halls, and other essential services, other shops in the city will be closed by 10:30 pm. The numbering of autos will be started by the police in early January. The numbering is targeted to be completed by January 31. No auto will be allowed to drive without a police number.
On the other hand, CCTV cameras have been installed near Adarsh Marg, Dhankuada, Zilla School, Chaurpur Bridge, Laxmi dunguri and Burla to control crime. 24-hour police presence is there and checking. Sambalpur Police has planned to make 4 more check posts near Dhanupali, Sarlakani, Kuluthakani New Bridge, and Maneshwar Chowk to arrest the criminals.
