Sambalpur: Polling Booth Officials Trained for Election; District Magistrate Reviews Election Training Center
Sambalpur: District Magistrate Akshay Sunil Agrawal recently visited Sambalpur’s training center, where wing-polling officials are preparing for the upcoming general elections. The training center, which opened at B.Ed College and Zilla School on the 15th of last month, is actively engaging trainees and officials in preparation for the forthcoming general elections, the dates of which have already been announced.
The Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency polling is scheduled for May 25th, and the district administration must make detailed preparations to ensure a transparent electoral process. Regular meetings with law enforcement agencies, including the police, are held to maintain public order. Additionally, collaboration with the various departments aims to reduce drug trafficking at this crucial period.
Each pooling booth will be staffed by six officials, all of whom are currently completing a five-day training program at B.Ed College and Zilla School. The training curriculum covers important topics such as operating Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), including connecting the EVMs, comprehending control unit operations, and performing mock polls with EVMs to familiarize trainees with the procedure.
Over 490 individuals are undergoing training at B.Ed College, while 450 officers are being trained at Chandrashekhar Behera Zilla School. Notable authorities, including Additional Tahsildar Amita Pattnaik, SMC Deputy Commissioner Shankar Prasad Sahu, Deputy Commissioner Shubhadipta Mohanty, Assistant District Magistrate Sushant Kumar Naik, ADEOs Murlidhar Behera and Jayashri Dora, Deputy Collector Abhishek Kishan, and Assistant Collector Jolly Rani Pradhan are actively engaged in the training sessions.
It is worth noting that the previous district administration held a conference with members from several political parties before launching this training project. This proactive effort demonstrates the dedication to a seamless and unbiased electoral process.
