Sambalpur: Pollution Rising Topic, Show Cause Notice to 4 Rice Mill
Sambalpur: The State Pollution Control Board has issued notices to 4 rice mills in Sambalpur district. These rice mills are Ma Tara Rice Industries and Narayan Rice Mill in Sansinghari, Chandrama Rice Mill in Raghunathpalli near Chaurpur and Balaji Agro Tech near Baijamunda. Recently, a team from the State Pollution Control Board inspected all these rice mills. The ETP of the rice mills was not operational during the inspection. Contaminated water from the Rice Mill was released. The State Pollution Control Board has issued a notice that air and water pollution in the region is on the rise due to such work of the rice mills. It has been ordered to show a cause notice within the next 15 days. It has been made clear that necessary action will be taken if no satisfactory answer is found during this period. Notably, the ETP is not working to reduce the cost of these rice mills. The Hon’ble Supreme Court has orders to run ETP, prevent pollution and so on. Despite this, the rice mills are ignoring it.
