Sambalpur: Postmaster Laxman Bhoi was suspended from his job; He was using depositors’ money as own personal money
Jujumura: Keeping depositors’ money has become expensive for Jujumura postmaster Laxman Bhoi. He has been suspended from his job for financial irregularities. According to information received, Laxman Bhoi, postmaster of Jujumura, was using the money of the depositors as his personal money. The money deposited in Jujumura Post Office’s savings account was slyly confiscated by the postmaster. He was writing in his hand with the money deposited in the passbook. But in reality, the money was not being deposited in the account. Postmaster Mr. Bhoi without depositing money, used to spend it on his personal work saving it. A few days ago, this information came to know when a man came to the Sambalpur main post office and checked him due to suspicion. There was a mismatch between the money in his account and the money mentioned in the passbook. It was found that about 90 thousand rupees less than the amount of money was mentioned in the passbook. After this incident, the postal department started an investigation.
Postmaster Mr. Bhoi has been suspended for financial irregularities. Bipin Bihari Negi, Superintendent of the Postal Department, asked in this regard, he said, from the preliminary investigation, Rs 1.80 lakh has not been deposited by the postmaster. Considering the seriousness of the allegation, ASP Sambhu Kumar Singh has been assigned the responsibility of investigating it. Actions such as suspension from the job have also been taken due to the possibility of manipulation of postmaster records. However, Mr. Negi informed that further action will be taken after ASP Mr. Singh submits the report. It is worth noting that the postmaster took such money from many people but he didn’t deposit it. The depositors used to complain to the Postmaster when they went to withdraw money from their account when they found that the money was not deposited. At that time there were allegations that the postmaster was depositing money in the account of the concerned person.
