Dhama: Pranati Sahu, a junior engineer of Maneshwar block in Sambalpur district, was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs. 10000. Pranthi has recently taken charge of Batemura and Bargaon Panchayats. Before this she was in charge of Baduapali Panchayat. 5 lakhs was sanctioned for the construction of a road from Antapali to Baduapali. Villagers repeatedly ran to the junior engineer to pass the bill. But he was not deliberately passing the bill. She demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 to pass the bill. Having no other option, the villager went to the door of the vigilance department. Today, Vigilance Department caught Pranati while taking a bribe. Searches are underway at three places, including her house in Sambalpur and Angul districts, to find out about the transfer of foreign assets.

A residence in Sambalpur’s Kuluthkani, a rented shopping mall in Gobindtola, and in-law’s house in Bolgunthianali, Derang police station, Angul district are being searched.
