Sambalpur: Professor Vidubhushan Mishra has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Sambalpur University. He has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Sambalpur University for four years by the Governor of Odisha and Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Ganeshi Lal. Prof. Mishra is a retired Professor of Business Administration at Utkal University. He has authored 9 books and written 122 articles in popular magazines. He has more than 34 years of teaching experience. Besides, he has successfully guided one DELETE, 39 PhD and 3 MPhil scholars. It is worth noting that this position fell vacant after the controversial Vice-Chancellor of Sambalpur University Professor Sanjiv Mittal resigned from his post. Professor Mittal Sambalpur University has been embroiled in various controversies ever since he took charge as the Chancellor. Starting from cutting down expensive trees in the university campus, becoming the prime accused in the murder of contract worker Dinbandhu Mishra, getting anticipatory bail from the High Court, and removing the permanent chairman of L.R. He was embroiled in controversies for doing shady things like awarding doctorates to businessmen, having less gold in the gold medals awarded and finally transferring around Rs 29 lakh of Swachh University campaign funds to the bank accounts of his wife and son. Due to his actions, he became a thorn in the neck of the government.
