Sambalpur: Protest rally in Bhubaneswar next week against the Discrimination – Warning of the Ghunghutipada’s Displaced People
Sambalpur: Alleging that the government has interfered in the compensation and rehabilitation of the Samlei scheme, the Ghunghutipada Security Committee and the Samleshwari Women’s Association have decided to organize a protest rally in the capital Bhubaneswar next week. A preparatory meeting for this was held on Thursday at the New Ghunughtipada Rehabilitation Colony in Durgapali where 180 displaced families from Ghunghutipada took a joint decision that to hold a large protest rally will be organized by the Displaced Security Committee and the Samleshwari Women’s Association in the capital next week against the discrimination to them by the state government and the district administration.

The government and the administration that gave lease to others in 2021 and 2022 will answer them. Why compensation of 3 lakhs to them and 20 lakhs to others when the scheme and displacement is being same? They alleged that the government has conspired to evict the 450-year-old poor and downtrodden slums. The deployed security committee is determined to sensitize the people of the entire state regarding the discrimination policy in the coming days. They decided that if the government does not solve the problem in the next few days, everyone will stop building the houses and construction work. The agitated committee will contact various organizations in the city to seek support for next week’s protest.
Apart from the protest in Bhubaneswar, they decided to organize a warning rally in Sambalpur as well. In the meeting, Niranjan Tandi, Deepak Nag, Kirtan Deep, Jiten Bhoi, Samaru Kumbhar, Subas Gaud, Bhaskuri Nag, Satyavama Bagh, Itu Mahanand, Gyan Deep, Lata Suna mainly expressed their opinions.
