Sambalpur: Raging in Sambalpur University!!
Burla: Don’t leave Sambalpur University behind controversy. Now a recent allegation of ragging has been added to the university’s list of controversies. In the academic year 2022-23, new students have joined various departments of Sambalpur University. Welcoming ceremonies are being organized in various departments and dormitories. An exception has been found in the Golden Jubilee dormitory under the university.
On Wednesday night, the senior students of the MBA department of the Golden Jubilee dormitory of the Sambalpur University have been accused of harassing, beating and ragging some first year students of the mathematics department. In this regard, On asking the superintendent of the hostel Dr. Jasmir Naik, he admitted it.
After receiving the complaint, a two-member inquiry committee has been formed and the said committee will submit a report to the chancellor after the inquiry. When asked about this to the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anita Das, she said that strict action will be taken against the guilty students after the report of the inquiry committee. On Thursday, she himself went to all the hostels and asked the students to keep the mobile number of the superintendent and Waden of the hostel where they live, to inform them if there is any problem.
