Sambalpur: Rakhi, a 10th class student donates all her saved pocket-money for the treatment of a 7-year old poor child
Sambalpur: Young children take money from their parents and save it in piggy bank (କୁମ୍ପି), thinking that they will be able to work in the future. Even after saving a few pennies from his pocket money, a 10th standard student donates the money she has saved for many years to the treatment of a poor child.
Rakhi, the daughter of Amar Tandi, the founder of Seva (Non-Profit Organization), a resident of Laripali Village, Rengali Block, Sambalpur district, has been saving money for many years.
The girl came to know that a 7-year-old child Manav Das of the Sahu Colony of Sambalpur had a problem with his eyes. In fact, the girl was shocked to learn that the little child Manav would lose his sight without treatment. As the girl was preoccupied with her matric board exams, Rakhi sent her father Amar to give the money stored in the piggy bank to the 7-year-old child Manav.
