Sambalpur: Rape of a minor case, 3 accused sentenced to 30 years in prison
Sambalpur: Three miscreants assaulted a minor girl in Kuchinda police station area. After hearing the case, POCSO Court judge Vishwaranjan Behera convicted the three accused Sarathi Kisan, Pratap Patel and Rajendra Naik and sentenced them to 30 years in prison. In addition, a fine of 1 lakh rupees has been imposed. If the fine is not paid, he will be jailed for another 3 years. The case was handled by public prosecutor Satya Panda.
It is worth noting that on July 2, 2015, the victim and his friend went to take a bath in the pond at Kuchinda police station at 12:00. Three young men of the village, Sarathi Kisan, Pratap Patel and Rajendra Naik were sitting next to that pond. The victim and his friend were waiting to take a bath after 3 youths leave. Taking advantage of the fact that no one else was there, 3 youths chased the victim and his friend to commit mischief.
The victim’s friend managed to escape. Then three youths captured the victim and one of them committed a series of misdeeds. After the victim’s friends went to the village and told about the incident, people went to the spot. There the victim was lying unconscious. After waking up in the hospital, she told her father about the incident. After the victim’s father filed a written complaint at the Kuchinda police station, the police registered a case and started investigating the incident and arrested the three accused and took them to court.
