Burla: A rare sight was witnessed in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Burla Vimsar today. It has been reported that the operation of a critical patient was delayed by about 3 hours due to a lack of water in the operating room of this department. Despite reporting to the P.H.D department about no water supply in the operating room for almost a month, no steps have been taken to repair it.

So today, the doctor who performed the operation complained that there was a delay in the operation of a critically ill patient. The doctor was forced to bring water in a bucket and performed surgery. According to information, it is alleged that there is often no water supply in the operating rooms of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Vimsar. The overhead tank is running out of water within a short period of time. This problem has been occurring for about a month. In this regard, the departmental doctor informed the P.H.D department in writing, but the department has not repaired it till date.

  • Washed hands in spirit after surgery
  • The P.H.D department is not solving the problem

However, the doctors said that while water is needed for surgery, water is not coming on time. A doctor scheduled operation for a pregnant woman in Burla today at 9 am. At this time, water was not available in the operating room as usual. As the water did not come even after waiting for about 3 hours, the doctor was forced to bring a bucket of water from another place and conduct the operation on the woman.

On the other hand, the doctors washed their hands in spirit today complained that the doctors and staff did not get water to wash their hands after the operation. However, the doctors have blamed the negligence of the P.H.D department for the fact that such a problem of water in an important place like the operating room has remained for months and is not repaired even after complaints. Doctors have questioned whether the P.H.D department will be held responsible if there is any threat to the patient’s life.
