Sambalpur: Rare surgery in Burla Vimsar; Tumour same as the size of a 9-month baby removed after 3 long hours of surgery
Sambalpur: Burla Vimsar Gynecology and Obstetrics Department doctors are always trying to provide better health care to patients by doing something new. Similarly, today a woman underwent a rare surgery to successfully remove a large tumor in her abdomen same as the size of a 9-month-old baby.
According to the information, Sundarmati, the wife of Safed Lal Kumar of the Saraipali area of Chhattisgarh, felt pain in her stomach for a few days. She came to Vimsar and discussed this with Dr. Benudhar Pandey. After various tests, Dr. Pandey suggested that she had a large tumor in her stomach and that it would be fixed by surgery.
This disease is medically known as multiple broad ligament fibroids. Today Dr. Pandey with Dr. KC Mohapatra, Dr. Satyam Das, Professor of Neurology Dr. Bimal Panda along with the help of nurse Shefali Kandhar, the tumor was removed from Sundarmati’s stomach after a long 3-hour surgery. Sundarmati’s health is stable after the surgery, Dr. Pandey informed.
