Sambalpur: ‘Red Cross’ extends a helping hand and free support to poor meritorious students, Organize “Book Bank” Service
Sambalpur: In today’s expensive market, it is not possible for everyone to procure the required textbooks for higher education. As a result, many talented students are working hard but textbooks are creating problems for them. In such a situation, the book bank system has been implemented by the District Red Cross for the past few years for the talented poor students. However, due to the lack of widespread publicity, students who need textbooks are not able to get the benefit of this system. Since this is a good scheme by the government, it is widely demanded to take necessary steps so that more and more number of students can benefit through book bank.
According to District Red Cross information, the current book bank has 1089 different valuable and useful books for school and college students. Only 3 books have been given to the students between last January and July. During this time, various people donated 92 books to the book bank. Earlier there were 1000 books, now there are 1089 books. Therefore, Red Cross officials have announced that the students who need textbooks should come to the book bank and collect the required books free of charge. Similarly, the Red Cross said that if a person has valuable and useful books at home should brought them and deposited them in the book bank, it will help needy students to study.
