Sambalpur: Sambalpur Residents Enjoying the Food Street Experience in Ainthapali; 102 Stalls Selling Various Food Items, Plans Worth Rs. 15 Lakh for Development
A New Food Street Experience
Sambalpur: Sambalpur residents are now enjoying a delightful food street experience at Ainthapali, near the PHD ground market. Inspired by Bhubaneswar’s famous food street, around 102 food stalls have been set up, selling a wide variety of snacks like chaat, golgappa, chowmin, Manchurian, and ice cream.
Future Plans for Development
The authorities have announced plans to upgrade this food vending zone. Officer Sushant Sahu confirmed that proposals are in place to further develop the area for better public convenience.
Traffic and Space Issues Resolved
Earlier, fast food and snack stalls were spread from Jagannath Colony to Ainthapali Chowk. Vendors sold food using carts, vehicles, and temporary setups, often creating traffic congestion. The crowd, especially in the evenings, made the roads narrow and difficult to manage.

To solve this issue, the authorities designated the PHD ground near Ainthapali as a dedicated food vending area. Many food carts have now shifted from the busy roads to this new space, easing traffic flow.
Organized Setup with Better Facilities
The food stalls now operate from morning till evening, offering breakfast and evening snacks. To further improve the area, a tender has been issued for paving the entire 1-acre land with paver blocks. Plans also include proper lighting and regular cleanliness drives.
Enhanced Cleanliness and Food Safety
For better hygiene, the municipal corporation has deployed garbage collection vehicles to the area. A waste disposal unit will be constructed soon. Additionally, the Food Safety Officer will conduct regular inspections to prevent the sale of stale or adulterated food.
Budget Allocation and Community Benefits
A budget of Rs. 15 lakh has been allocated for this project’s development. The transformation not only promises better traffic management but also provides locals with a safer and more enjoyable evening hangout spot.
