Sambalpur: Rice Mill’s pollution is dangerous for people
Burla: There are many rice mills between Goshala and Mundoghat in Dhankawada block of Sambalpur district. The dumping of ash from the rice mills from Khapusipali to Pardeshi Pada is subject to special environmental protection rules. However, pedestrians are having a hard time keeping the mill owners on both sides of the road. The slightest breeze blows the ashes into the eyes of the people. Accidents are happening and they have to go to the hospital and spend money.
Even with the strongest winds, the ashes are blown away and buried in the bodies of pedestrians. So the mill owners are trying to get rid of their guilt by not asking for ashes on the road. Asked by Chandan Sharma, owner of Chandrama Rice Mill, about the incident, he said that the ash lying on the side of the road was not one of the rice mills. It has been two or four months since the dumping of the dump truck. We are trying to remove it. But, it will take some time. The Pollution Control Board is expected to take action against the millers involved in the incident.
