Sambalpur: Robbery of Finance Officer Case, Complainant Himself is Accused

Sambalpur: The complainant is the accused himself. After a thorough investigation, the Sambalpur Charmal police station has arrested one of the accused and two of his accomplices. Sambalpur SP B. Gangadhar informed in a press conference on Wednesday. Jyotilal Bishwal (22) of BMpur police station Kaddipali, Subarnapur district, was working as an agent in the Boudh branch of Bharat Finance Company. On 12th he came to Charmal area to collect money. When he was returning to Boudh with 54,797 rupees, at 2:30 in the afternoon, 2 people came near Hemantkhol village and robbed him of a bag of money. Along with that, the mobile phone and the tab given by the company were also taken away. After Jyotilal made such a complaint in Charmal police station, the police registered a case and started investigating the incident. According to police information, India Finance Company has given loans to 95 SHG groups. The agents come every week to collect money from them. On the 12th, Jyotlal was returning from Charmal with the money he had collected and was planning to embezzle the money.

He himself asked his uncle Shubhprasad Vishwal (25) of BMpur police station Kadelipali and his friend Gautam Pradhan (25) of Kirapali to loot the money. According to the plan, 2 friends came on a bike and looted Jyotilal’s money bag, mobile phone and company tab from a distance. During the preliminary investigation, some eyewitnesses also gave statement that they were robbed. Because of which, it was difficult for the police to catch the accused. A special police team of Charmal police station under the supervision of Sambalpur SP arrested Jyotilal Vishwal along with Shubhprasad and Gautam and took them to court on Wednesday.

2 bikes (OD 31E1140, OD 310407), 3 mobile phones, a tab, a power bank, a bag containing documents and 7 thousand rupees in cash have been seized from them. This is not a case. While such cases have been registered in many police stations of Sambalpur district, the police have failed to arrest the accused in some cases. The police now suspect that there are many cases where the agents of this finance company have planned and staged the robbery as they are accusing themselves. Those cases will also be investigated like the Charmal case, the SP said.
