Sambalpur: Robbery plan from Jewellery shop in broad daylight, 2 women and 3 arrested
Sambalpur: The time is 2.30 pm. Place Govindtola Payal Jewellers under Dhanupali police station. Some people arrived in a film style car. 2 women and a young man got down and entered the jeweler’s shop. “Show the mangalsutra, show the chain, they said.”
In just 5 minutes, while the women kept the shopkeepers busy in choosing the manlassutra, the young men began to fill his pockets with gold chain one by one.
During this, the shopkeeper came to know about the theft on the CCTV camera and asked one of his employees in sign to close the shutters of the shop. The beating started after closing the shutters of the shop. They caught the thief and informed the police. In this regard, Dhunupali police registered a case and arrested 3 people, and started a search to catch the other accused in the car.
The three arrested accused identified themselves as Manju Sahu, Rashmita Behera and Munna Behera and said that they belonged to khurda Jatni.
According to the information, earlier in Sambalpur there have been incidents of thieves posing as customers and stealing gold from shop.
However, today at 2.30 pm, when the shop was empty, this group of robbers came there. Accused Munna Behera filled his pocket with gold weighing about 60 grams while keeping both the women shopkeepers busy with buying gold. But the shopkeeper could see this gold theft. After the shutter down, the youth was beaten up and told about their robbery plan. Later, the police arrived at the scene and arrested the accused and recovered the stolen goods.
