Sambalpur: Rs 3 lakh and an Activa scooter was looted at gunpoint
At around 10.30pm on Tuesday night, miscreants looted Rs 300,000 from a man and his Activa scooter at gunpoint near Bareipali intersection. Bindu Prasad Gupta, manager of the Remed liquor store, closed the shop at 10 pm and returned home with Rs 3 lakh in an Activa car of day-to-day sales. Mr. Gupta was on his way to Khetrajpur from there when the staff at Bareipali Chowk went the other way. In front of a steel shop, three young men came on a motorcycle, stopped him, hit him in the head with the back of gun, and told him to leave the scooter. Two of them were holding guns and one was holding a knife. Mr. Gupta did not leave the scooter so started to fill the gun.
They then snatched Mr. Gupta’s mobile phone and purse and fled away with activa scooter and money inside. The incident has been reported to the Aithapali police station. The investigation is ongoing, the accused or Scooty has not been identified yet,” policer officer Joge Panda said.
