Sambalpur: Rs 300 crore has been sanctioned for the construction Ainthapali flyover, Tender Call Soon: NHAI

Sambalpur: Rs 300 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a flyover at the main entrance of the accident-prone Ainthapali Sambalpur city. While the new design has been approved, tenders will be invited in the next 10/15 days, said Nitin Kumar Gupta, Director of Heavy Projects, NHAI, Sambalpur. According to the new design, it will be built on National Highway No. 53 before the Ainthapali Bus Stand, and the lower road will have 8 lanes instead of 6 lanes. Mr. Gupta said, “On the contrary, vehicles will travel on the lower road of the flyover to Jharsuguda on State Highway No. 10, and the vehicles will go to Angul, Cuttack, Deogarh on the upper road of the flyover, which will solve the traffic problem and facilitate the movement of people.”

It is worth noting that due to the junction of National Highway No. 53 and State Highway No. 10, and two other intersections, frequent accidents are happening here. The flyover was proposed to be constructed. It was estimated that the cost would be Rs 249 crore. Since this design is not correct from a scientific point of view, the central government has been asked to prepare a new design. As the new design has received government approval, Mr. Gupta said that the construction of the flyover is planned to start before March. It is worth mentioning that the flyover can be a permanent solution and the lives of many people can be saved. The main entrance of Sambalpur will also be attractive and beautiful. Various organizations in the city are repeatedly demanding to build a flyover at Ainthapali, which has become an Accident zone. On January 15, 2022, former MP Bhavani Shankar Hota Sarai wrote a letter to the Chief Minister for redress. On the other hand, NHAI wrote to Shri Hota on February 18, 2022, that the detailed proposal report (DPR) for the construction of the flyover is being prepared and tenders will be invited after the completion of the DPR.
