Sambalpur: Sambalpur Festival Culminates with ‘Maduajjhara’
Sambalpur: The Sambalpur Festival was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Sambalpur Cultural Council. The council’s organizer, Sapan Mishra, coordinated the event, which included Chandana Singh, Ruksana, Dr. Ashok Shatpathi, Jaliya villagers, Aarambh Institute, and all Sambalpur Festival workers.
Cultural programs include Rabindra Panda’s ‘Ma’ Go Ma’ Saraswati Hansabahini’, Bharat Sahu’s ‘Nai Jaani Bajei Shulah Bharani’, Rajkumar Jal’s ‘Dangare Lagla Nia Makad Biha Helere’ and ‘Mallifula Mahaki Jauche Sina’, Jyoti Meher’s ‘Mamu Mate Dei Thile Haldi Geena’, Chetnamayi Behera ‘Rasa Jamudali Re’, Motilal Dora ‘Tor Gati Rupa Gale Badlire Bhal Chahata Mali’, Durga Das ‘E Kiye Dekhicha Kahidiya Tahake Mor Tahake’ performed folk music.
Bharani Arts Council’s Bidyadhar and troupe ‘Singhhari O Jatradekha’, Jayanthi Panda and troupe ‘Suada Sambalpuri’, St. Xavier’s School students ‘Sambalpuri Dance’ and ‘Meri Desh Meri Mitti’, Oram Tribal Dance Troupe ‘Tribal Dance’ and Jai Chala Tribal Institute performed ‘Kisan Nach’ folk dance.
The Sky Five Institute presents Sambalpuri beatboxing, rapping, and mashup and a fashion showcase coordinated by Aarambh, and Sambalika. Saurabh, Shivani, Ganesh, Saisiddhi, Ayush, Sriti, Umashankar, Smruti, Krishna, Pratyush, Surat, Ritika, Pritam, Bijayalakshmi, Lambodar, Supriya, Debasmita, Pratyushkant, Rimjhim and Anjana coordinated the cultural program.
Finally, following the fireworks, the traditional ‘Maduajjhara” program was held.
