Sambalpur: Sambalpur Gears Up for Vibrant Holi Celebrations; Increased Demand for Colors and Water Balloons
Sambalpur: The Holi festival is bringing a lot of business to Holi color sellers. People are also buying more pichkari, water guns, and water balloons for fun.
Because of Covid restrictions, people in Sambalpur could only celebrate Holi outside in 2022, rather than at home with their families. This made it hard for businesses that sell colors and pichkari to make money. But this year, things are different. People are getting excited about the Holi. They started celebrating right after board and other exams ended and have been doing it almost every day in different parts of the city.
On Saturdays, students have a great time celebrating Holi at universities. This year, many people will head to shops to buy color. Traders believe they will make good money from Monday to Tuesday. They sell pichkari, masks, and other things in different colors.
Although fewer individuals purchase normal colors, more people are interested in scent colors. Flavored color is incredibly popular, especially when compared to plain color. The price of aromatic color ranges from Rs 200 to Rs 300 per kilogram. Flavored color sachets cost between Rs 400 and 600 per kilogram. You can also get smaller packets for as little as 50 rupees per 100 grams.
Kids are also playing Holi with water guns. Prices range from 50 to 1,000 rupees. There are also various types of masks available, ranging in price from 20 to 200 rupees each. The Malinga Wig, which costs 200 rupees, is in high demand this year.
Water pipe balloons are becoming more popular too, selling at Rs 150 per packet. More shops are selling Holi items this year, including ones in shopping malls. People are also buying things online from websites like Amazon and Flipkart.
Business owners are pleased because Holi is bringing in more customers.
