Sambalpur: “Sambalpur Mahotsav-2022” will start from 20th Nov
Sambalpur: The Sambalpur Festival-2022, which has been closed for 2 years due to Corona, is going to be held at Virsa Maidan (PhD Ground) from November 20 to 24 this year. On this occasion, various other fairs will continue till November 30. The organizer Sambalpur Sanskrit Parishad has done the auspicious beginning with worshiping of Goddess Samaleswari today for this event. Padmashri Jitendra Haripal, Bhaktprasad Nanda, Golakbihari Mishra, Sapan Mishra, Sadanand Panda, Bandana Panda, Brajbhushan Sarangi, Meenakshi Panigrahi, Bobby Meher, Soumyajit Patnaik, Praveen Supkar were present on this occasion. Ambika Prasad Ray, the chief worshiper of Samlei Temple, and other devotees performed special pujas and offered the sacred garland. Pandit Sadashiv Tripathi, who came with the commandment, performed ground pooja and installed the auspicious pillar at Virsa Maidan.
Every morning of the Mahotsav, there will be Sambalpuri poetry reading and literature meeting with discussions on Sambalpuri language literature, culture, music, drama, public life, history, traditions etc. In the evening, various cultural programs will showcase the endangered folk art of the Western odisha. State-level tribal and folk dance troupes and national dance troupes will perform cultural programs every evening. Jhooti, Alpona and Rangoli Competition, Art Exhibition, Photography Competition, Photo Exhibition, Sambalpuri Fashion Show, Swad Sambalpuri Food Stall will be the special attractions of Sambalpur Festival. The Sambalpur Cultural Council has informed that this year’s program will be the special attraction of art village, musical tree, literature festival, singing and drama.
