Odisha CM receives invitation for “Samalei Project” inauguration on Jan 27
Sambalpur: The redevelopment project at Samaleswari temple of Western Odisha is in progress. The project will be inaugurated on the 27th of this month. A team comprising members of the temple trust board, president, and priests came to Naveen Niwas and met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and invited him to the inaugural ceremony. They thanked the Chief Minister and 5T Secretary VK Pandian for the transformation of Maa Samleswari’s Temple. They said that coconuts would be given to every house by the Trust Board and Sindoor would be brought from every house for the mother. Wishing everyone’s cooperation in the work of Maa Samaleswari, the Chief Minister said that he has always given importance to the development of Maa’s Peetha and the city of Sambalpur. This work will continue in the coming days as well. 5T Mr. Pandian said that due to the blessings of Maa Samaleswari, all the work is going well and all the work will continue to be good. The transformation will continue with everyone’s cooperation.
The state government initiated redevelopment work at the shrine under Samaleswari Temple Area Management and Local Economy Initiatives (SAMALEI) in 2021. It had sanctioned Rs 200 crore for the project, sources said. The redevelopment project includes beautification and peripheral development at the temple, development of a heritage corridor, state-of-the-art amenities for pilgrims, and Mahanadi riverfront development work. Senior officials of the state government have visited the shrine several times in the recent past to take stock of the project work. Samaleswari temple had been constructed by Chouhan king Balram Dev of Sambalpur. It is one of the most revered shrines in western Odisha and neighboring Chhattisgarh.
The invitation card will first be presented to Maa Samaleswari. The cards will be blessed through a special ritual by her. A team of special representatives will then present the cards to Patneswari Temple, Bata Mangala Temple, Dasamati, Somnath Temple, and Lord Lingaraj in Bhubaneswar. Later on, the invitation card will be given to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Samaleswari Trust Board President Sanjay Babu, Prafulla Hota, Hemant Mishra, Santosh Pruseth, Mahendra Pujari, Chief Pujak Ambika Ray, Pujak Okil Ray, Pabitra Ray, Prakash Ray, Yaksha Ray major were present on the occasion.
