Sambalpur Sewerage: Work at slow pace, Pump House is running only for name

Sambalpur: Sambalpur Sewerage work is going on and some new tenders have been issued and some contractors have been appointed and the work is being done. All that work is going on at a slow pace. On the other hand, 4 Pump houses have been completed, according to the WATCO official in charge of supervising the sewage works. But pump houses are running for an hour or two a day.

Sewerage Planting Station No. 7 has done engineering and construction work. An employee stationed there informed that the pump house runs for one to two hours a day. According to the staff, there is no domestic connection. He said, “The wing goes on for some time during the day.” On the other hand, the Sewerage work is going on on Sakhipada road and the road is being excavated for the work. Large boreholes are being worked with the help of JCB. But, after the work is done, the excavated road is not properly filled. People are complaining about minor accidents happening on the roads. Even though cross piles are thrown at various places on the road, filling is not done properly. People are demanding that WATCO officials look into this
