Sambalpur: Software engineer Shweta Utkal Kumari’s suicide case: Boyfriend Soumyajit arrested
Sambalpur: It has been reported that software engineer Shweta Utkal Kumari’s boyfriend Soumyajit Mohapatra has been arrested in the suicide case. Soumyajit was picked up by the commissionerate police late at night from his house in Bansidhar Nagar, Sambalpur. After some time, the police will bring Soumyajit to Bhubaneswar. Last year, Shweta’s hanging body was found in a house in Sailashree vihar. Shweta’s family blamed her boyfriend for the death.
It is worth noting that a written complaint was filed by the family of software engineer Shweta Utkal Kumari in Chandrasekharpur police station last year that her boyfriend was responsible for her suicide. Shweta’s father and two brothers filed a complaint against her boyfriend Soumyajit Mohapatra. They alleged that Soumyajit was blackmailing Shweta and mentally torturing her. After a long live-in relationship broke up, Shweta was apparently under a lot of stress and depression. According to Shweta’s family members, Soumyajit and Shweta were working in an IT company in Bhubaneswar in 2018. From there, a love affair developed between them. As things progressed, they were in a live-in relation. After knowing this, Shweta’s family proposed Soumyajit’s family to marry them both. But Soumyajit’s family demanded Rs 30 lakh as dowry. Although it was not possible for them to raise so much money, Shweta’s father was forced to do so. Later, a rift arose between Shweta and Soumyajit over this and later their relationship broke up.
Later Soumyajit left his job and fled away to his home in Sambalpur and started blackmailing Shweta. Some intimate photos and videos of the live-in relation were threatening to go viral. It was alleged that Soumyajit was blackmailing Shweta in the hope of getting money as she was well paid. Although Shweta informed the family about this, no solution could be found. So Shweta committed suicide due to mental pressure, it was mentioned on behalf of her family.
