Sambalpur: Sohala (16 days) Durga Puja rituals will be held at Maa Samaleswari Temple from 6th October
Sambalpur: From this coming Friday 6th Oct, 16 days pujas will be started at the shrine of Goddess Maa Samaleswari of Sambalpur. As per the schedule, “Puja Jiuntia Osha”, a special ritual, will also begin at the temple from 6th Oct onwards.
On the 14th, on the occasion of Holy Mahalaya, Maa Samaleswari will be embellished in Dhabalmukhi Bhesha ( white face getup). On the 15th Navaratra Puja along with the lighting of Manasika Deepa (Holy earthen lamps offered to appease the Goddess for the fulfillment of certain wishes) will be held.
On the 21st, Sandhi Puja will be held along with Mahastami Puja. On this day, Maa’s sword-washing will also done. On the 22nd day with Maha Navami Puja, there is a Nagar Parikrama around the city, then the 23rd day is rest.
Sanjay Babu, president of the Samaleswari Temple Trust Board informed that the Ranjita festival with Dussehra Puja will be held on the 24th day of Vijayadashami and the Rajarajeswari Besha Of Maa Samaleswari will be completed on the 28th.
