Sambalpur: Son Accused of Brutally Beating Father to Death
Sambalpur: In a horrifying incident, an elderly man was reportedly beaten to death by his son in the Sadar area of Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Lingaraj Kumura, and the accused was his son Amulya from Ghenupali village. While the exact cause behind the horrible act has yet to be identified, preliminary investigations revealed a heated argument between the father and son.
According to sources, Lingaraj and his son Amulya had an argument late at night. The argument worsened, with Amulya losing his temper and violently beating his father. Following the brutal beating, Amulya fled the scene. Neighbors responded to the screams and rushed Lingaraj to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
On receiving information, police arrived at the scene and started an investigation. The exact cause of death will be determined only after the postmortem report arrives. Official sources have notified that further investigation is underway.
