Sambalpur: Stains on the khaki uniform. Serious allegations have been made against a police sub-inspector. Even though a case was filed against him in a case of cheating love, the local police station has complained to the National Human Rights Commission that the police did not take proper action. The National Human Rights Commission accepted the complaint of lawyer Range Nath Shadangi and asked Sambalpur SP to take the necessary action as per law.
According to the information received, last year 2021, the victim girl contacted the concerned police SI regarding a Corex case. After being introduced, the policeman pretended to be unmarried and lured the young woman into his love trap. He also had physical relations with young women many times. Not only that, he also took Rs 60,000 from the young woman by showing her lack of finance. Then, after she came to know that the police had a relationship with multiple women, so on last May 2023, the victim went to the local police station.
After receiving the complaint, a case was filed against this police officer under sections 47, 420, and 506 of the IPC. The local police station has not imposed section 376 of the IPC against the police officer, nor has the chargesheet been filed yet. After receiving information from the victim, lawyer Rangenath Shadangi filed a complaint in this regard with the National Human Rights Commission on July 31. The Human Rights Commission has taken the complaint seriously. Mr. Shadangi informed the complainant’s lawyer who asked the Sambalpur SP to inform the Commission within 15 days of receiving the letter along with taking necessary action as per the law during the hearing of the complaint. On the contrary, when the first complaint came, the concerned police officer Babu was transferred from the town police station to the Khetrajpur police station. Yesterday he was again transferred to the Rayagada district.
