Sambalpur: Turning an airport into a state-of-the-art railway station in the country was never imagined before. Only Modiji can think of this. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the idea of a modern railway station has been realized by the Modi government today with an emphasis on new railways, railway lines, and passenger facilities. Shri Pradhan said this on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in the groundbreaking ceremony for the transformation of stations across the country under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme at Karakamal through a virtual platform at Hirakud railway station in Sambalpur district. In the first phase, 25 stations such as Bargarh Road, Hirakud, Redhakhol, Barpali, Balangir, Harishankar Road, Bhavanipatna, and Khariar Road, etc. will cost Rs 531 crore.
Sambalpur City Railway Station in the second phase and Sambalpur Main Station in the third phase will be included in this plan, he said. Recently for the construction of a new railway line from Jharsuguda to Barkot 4 crores have been sanctioned by the Ministry of Railways for the survey. Odisha got only 2 lakh 93 thousand crore rupees during the last 10 years of the UPA government before the Modi government. The Union Minister said that the Modi government is committed to the development of Odisha by strengthening the railway infrastructure.
In the program held at Hirakud station under the coordination of DRM Binit Singh along with Padmashri Jitendra Haripal and Mitravanu Gountia, Rengali MLA Nauri Naik, former MLA Ravi Naik, BJP state general secretary Samachal Khatei, district BJP president Girish Patel were among the main attendees.
