Sambalpur: Statewide Reach; Chief Minister’s Vision of Laxmi Bus Service to Cover All Districts by Month-end
Sambalpur: The state government has launched the Laxmi Yojana (LAccMI – Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative), which aims to provide inexpensive and dependable connectivity in both rural and urban areas. While the initiative has been implemented in numerous districts, it is set to launch in Sambalpur on the 19th.
The district has 9 blocks and 138 gram panchayats. According to the plan, buses will operate along routes set by different Panchayats, with 12 vehicles arriving in Sambalpur first and a total of 36 to 40 buses anticipated for the district’s Lumsing bus service over two phases.
The major purpose is to empower women, students, and local communities, hence promoting regional development. The ticket charge for women from Panchayat to block is a nominal Rs 5, showing the government’s commitment to improving transportation accessibility.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is set to inaugurate the “LAccMI” bus service in P.H.D Ground of Ainthapali during a ceremony on the 21st. The inaugural event will witness the participation of public representatives, prominent individuals from the district, and the potential involvement of ministers and senior officials.
Notably, the Chief Minister had previously announced the initiation of the Laxmi bus service across all districts of the state by the end of this month. The program signifies a broader initiative to enhance connectivity and accessibility through improved public transportation services in the region.
