Sambalpur: Students and public are not allowed to celebrate Independence Day this time too
Sambalpur: Two days ago, where thousands of people from young to old had gathered for Sambalpuri Day and even District Collector and SP were present as guests, the general public will not be allowed to participate in the 76th district level Independence Day celebrations to be held at the same place after some days later.
There will be no parade or march past on this occasion, which is being celebrated specially because completion of 75 years of independence. The district administration has decided that the chief guest will hoist the flag in the presence of a small number of guests. In a meeting held under the chairmanship of Additional District Collector Ajambar Mohanty on Wednesday, it was decided that Independence Day will be celebrated amid the Covid restrictions as per the guidelines of the State Health Department.
In the morning, Ramadhan, garlanding of the statue, independence day in various institutions, the chief guest will hoist the flag at the district level ceremony at 9:15 am. Police forces will salute the national flag and salute the chief guest. But school or college students or general public will not be involved this time. Earlier, various competitions will be organized at the high school level and corona warriors will be invited to the event. After the program, it was decided to have a blood donation camp at Odisha Cultural Society.
PD DRDA Dilip Kumar Bal, DSP DIB James Samad, Regional Transport Officer Ramdas Tudu, Chief Supply Officer Ramchandra Tudu, ADEO Jayshree Dora, Vacancy Superintendent Ashok Kumar Seth, Public Health Department Additional Enforcement Officer Gulson Sahu, District Culture Officer Deepak Kumar Kullu present in the meeting. SMC Deputy Commissioner Vinod Chandra Panda, DSP Traffic Narendra Sarangi, Fire Department Raghumani Kalo, Red Cross Editor Jay George, Officer Tridev Pradhan, DSW Gitanjali Mohapatra, Odisha Cultural Society President Ashok Mishra, Prashant Pattjoshi and other district level officials were present. District Information and Public Relations Officer Fakir Mohan Majhi presented the previous year’s report and gave vote of thanks.
