Sambalpur: Sukanta Maharana came from Koraput with the help of Social Worker Shri Ramdas Panda & donated blood
A 13-year-old girl named Maheshwata Kisan of Devagarh district was first admitted to Rourkela Hospital by her father. Due to a gynecological problem, the girl needed blood. As blood was not available in Rourkela, the girl was referred to Burla on 30.01.24. The girl’s blood is of the rare (and positive Bombay phenotype) group, that’s why this blood was not found even in Sambalpur. The girl’s blood has dropped below 2.9%. The girl’s father contacted Ramdas Panda of Sambalpur police for blood. On hearing the news, Ramdas contacted Sukanta Maharana of Koraput district and told him everything. Sukanta Maharana came from far away Koraput to Sambalpur and donated blood today at 12 noon. He has gone to different districts of Odisha and donated blood 21 times.
