Sambalpur: Supreme Court will hear the contempt of court case of the lawyers arrested in the High Court’s permanent bench protest today
Sambalpur: The Supreme Court will hear the contempt of court case of the lawyers arrested in the High Court’s permanent bench movement through which there is a way for the renewal of license of the arrested lawyer’s cancelled License. However, the hearing of the bail application of all the lawyers, who were arrested and in jail, is scheduled to be held on the 9th of Odisha High Court. But before this, the lawyers have already responded to the show cause notice issued by the Supreme Court. Along with this, all the lawyers have personally prayed to the Supreme Court for immunity.
Similarly, according to the opinion of the Supreme Court, the advocates will not be involved in the permanent bench movement of the Western Orissa High Court at any time in the future or will not do any such movement. Court proceedings in Sambalpur have also returned to normal. There is no contradiction anywhere. The Supreme Court has also been informed about this. Therefore, it is expected that the Supreme Court will approve the pardon of all the lawyers in the hearing of contempt of court today, so it is expected that the lawyer will be revoked or the license renewed and the bail application of all the lawyers will be approved on the 9th. It is worth noting that last December 12, 29 lawyers were arrested and sent to jail in the incident of vandalism in the chamber of the District Judge along with the accused lawyer, general public and police officers during the movement for the high court bench. Lawyers have been in jail for 54 days today. Almost all the charges against them are bailable. Some of the employees of the District Attorney’s Association have gone to Delhi and Cuttack and started the necessary process in the Supreme Court and High Court respectively.
