Sambalpur: Tender Fixing charges against Purchase of Medical Books for Vimsar Library
Burla: Vimsar Medical College library was accused of tender-fixing for purchase of books and journals. Bishnu Prasad, owner of Burla Bharat Book Emporium, has alleged that the Vimsar authorities have allowed a blacklisted book company to participate in the tender process once again. Vimsar has alleged that even though he had reported to the authorities in writing, there was no result. Bharat Book Emporium owner Bishnu Prasad filed a written complaint about irregularities in the tender process for the purchase of books and journals for the library in Burla Vimsar last September. But the authorities chose the blacklisted firm without accepting the complaint.
On January 10, 2020, the Rajasthan firm selected by Vimsar officials was blacklisted by Elsevier INC, the country’s leading medical textbook supplier.
Earlier, the Vimsar authorities had given an order to supply the journal to this institution in 2012 but as per the order, the institution could not supply the books to Vimsar after three years i.e. in 2015 they returned the advance of Rs 2 lakh 5 thousand 575 to Vimsar. Mr. Rakshit today once again brought to the attention of the Vimsar authorities in writing and demanded cancellation of the order.
