Sambalpur: The District Attorney’s step to prevent ragging
Burla: The state government has come to its senses following the suicide of Ruchika Mohanty, a BJP college student who was the victim of ragging. The government is taking steps to prevent ragging in educational institutions. Following the government’s advice, the Sambalpur district commissioner has also taken immediate action. Today, District Magistrate Ananya Das visited Vimsar and Sambalpur University, two major educational institutions in Burla, and took steps to prevent ragging. Today, a discussion was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Jayashree Dora, Chairperson of Vimsar. During the meeting, the chairperson Professor Dora was accompanied by the department head of all departments of Vimsar, the warden of the dormitory, the care taker of the dormitory and the student leader. The district attorney’s office has given various suggestions on how to prevent ragging. Later, the district magistrate went to Sambalpur University. There, a meeting chaired by Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Mittal was attended by faculty and some students to discuss how to prevent ragging.
