Sambalpur: At about 8:30 yesterday 6 youths were creating terror near khetrajpur Police Station Street. They used to attack people passing by roads. People were abused in vulgar language. If they objected to it, fighting was started. It is not just a matter of one day, but on a regular basis, the violence of criminals is increasing in the Khetrajpur area. Due to the inefficiency of the police and lack of patrolling, thefts, robberies, and deadly attacks have increased. In the last one and a half months, 7 thefts, 1 robbery, and 7 fatal attacks have been reported in khetrajpur police station. This number is said to be more than 30.

People have complained that such crimes are increasing due to the inaction of police officers. “Otherwise, the criminals would not have done this on the open road,” said an abuse victim. 6 people created a nuisance on the Flyover Bridge in khetrajpur. For a long time, there was no police presence even though such criminals were created nuisance. No one protested. The victim was targeting a gang there. Due to the lack of a regular patrolling system, such an outbreak has become a problem. Especially in Talbhatapada, Chandannagar, Pardeshi Pada, Banglapada, Mungapada, Saheb Bangla, and some other areas, people have never seen patrolling vehicles. So there is regular criminal activity.
On the other hand, hotels and bars in that area are open till midnight. As a result, the movement of criminals has increased, and people have complained. A person named Ajay Bakshi has complained to the District Collector. This person, who lives in khetrajpur station, has complained to the District Collector. A hotel in front of my house is open even after 12 pm. He filed a complaint at the khetrajpur police station, but no action has been taken so far. In the last 4 months, there have been 3 murders in Mungapada of khetrajpur police station. Besides, theft, looting, rape, beating, and gang clashes are not new to khetrajpur police station. However, the incompetence of the police has scared the locals. Everything from the sale of local liquor to the game of Satta is happening in this town. However, no strong action has been taken to date. Regarding this, Sambalpur ASP said that the IC of khetrajpur will be asked to pay attention.
