Sambalpur: The Police Officer are not transfer to other district, working in their own district for decades
Sambalpur: The policemen who used to come to Jharsuguda and Sambalpur district no longer want to go to other district. Even if it is transfer, they come to sambalpur city by giving various reasons, it is seen that some officers who have been working since the beginning of their working life in Sambalpur district are not being transferred elsewhere even though there is an exception to the government rule.
Most of the police officers in Jharsuguda district have been working for more than 3 years, some police officers have spent more than 4 years in one place. Not only the inspector in charge of the police station, but the police officers working in the post of ASI and SI are also in this list. The police ASI Gopal Das who killed Health Minister Nab Das has been working in Jharsuguda district for the last 12 years.
According to a senior police officer who has been working in the district for many years, ASIs and SIs do not get jobs in their home districts. There are government rules for this. Therefore, Gopal Das, a native of Ganjam district, after being promoted from Constable as ASI, was no longer posted in that district. With promotion, Gopal Das was transferred to Jharsuguda district. And since he never applied to transfer to another district, he was employed at various places in Jharsuguda district. In Sambalpur district, however, an exception to this government rule has been found. Some of the police officers who started their career in Sambalpur district have settled down in Sambalpur district.
A constable-turned-ASI, has spent most of his working life at the Sambalpur district headquarters. It is alleged that this police officer, who always shows his family reason, is in a close relationship with a secret group associated with the criminal world, who is a native of Sadar of Sambalpur district. Even after being accused of taking personal advantage by protecting the concerned group, this police officer is not being replaced. It is said that several senior police officers are protecting him despite the violation of government rules. Generally, police ASIs and SIs work at the grassroots level. ASI and SI level officers are not appointed in home districts on the fear that they will show bias, favoritism in the discharge of their duties and will not be able to give justice to the victims, if they live on good terms with the people of their district. However, in Sambalpur district, despite such an exception, favor is being shown to the concerned officials. On the contrary, many inspector level officers have been working in one place for many years, if proper steps are taken during the address, there is a risk of shortage cases in Sambalpur district in the coming days.
