Sambalpur: The Transportation Department has fined drivers for failing to pay money
Sambalpur: Sambalpur’s vehicle is heading towards Devgarh carrying goods, transport department officials working on their own. If their is Sambalpur vehicle number, the enforcement officers, who were on duty at the Devgarh RTO office, under the pretext of stopping the vehicle and checking the paperwork
There have been deadly allegations of money laundering. Even if all the paperwork is are done, still fined thousands of rupees.
A similar incident took place today with Sudhanshu Mohapatra, the owner of a pick-up van (OD15U5799) in Sambalpur, while he was taking 15 quintals of goods from Sambalpur to Kendujhar, when he was stopped by the traffic inspector of the Deogarh RTO office, who was checking his vehicle at Tilleibani in Deogarh district at around 10 am. After the driver parked the car, a constable approached him and demanded 2,000 rupees. The constable threatened to pay a fine of 10,000 rupees when the driver said he did not have the money.
Nowadays, even though all the paperwork on the internet is known to be correct or not. Fraudulent officers fines of up to Rs 10,000 without checking online. Mr Mohapatra alleged that he had fined a total of Rs 15,000 by adding Rs 5,000 fine for talking on his mobile phone.
When asked to Traffic Inspector Bishwaranjan Sahu in this regard, he said that the driver was not having DL and the vehicle was not given a road tax. That is why the fine has been deducted.
However, the question arises as to why, if the driver was not paid a DL or a vehicle tax, why was he fined for other reasons? Is the traffic inspector right or wrong? When it comes down to it, the truth will come to the force.
